Blood for Dracula was the second of two retellings of classic horror stories that Paul Morrissey directed back-to-back for producers Andrew Braunsberg and Carlo Ponti, using many of the same cast and crew members, on location and at Cinecitta Studios in Rome. Blood for Dracula is nowhere near as entertaining as Flesh for Frankenstein but it is one of the better Dracula films to come out of the mid-70s. However, behind the goofiness lies the heart of a film that actually bothers to look at Dracula in a way that hadn't been done before. The film involves Count Dracula arriving in Italy to feast upon the blood of virgins, only to find difficulty with this due to the lack of virgins present in Italy.
